Head in the Game & CHJS: Healing-Centered Sport
Description
Head in the Game, a program of Beyond Sport, is offering those working with 13–19-year-olds free training on coaching through a mental wellbeing lens.
As a valuable program partner, CHJS is delivering training on Healing-Centered Sport, where participants will learn how stress impacts the brain and how sport can be leveraged to help young people and athletes heal.
The training will enable coaches to:
- Hold more mental health-related conversations with youth
- Recognize the signs of mental wellbeing challenges
- Adopt tools to support youth's mental wellbeing
All participating coaches will receive a Certificate of Completion and will also be invited to participate in an online Learning Community where additional free trainings are available. The Learning Community brings together youth sports coaches, sports-based youth development non-profits, sports and mental wellbeing experts, athletes and teams from across the sports sector to connect, learn, share, and inspire action.
